Glorious summer!

Sun Jul 5, 2009, 6:59 PM
Ah, dear glorious summer vacation! Weekdays become a lot more fun when you don't have to haul your posterior off the mattress at half past ungodly in the morning. I can finally pursue my interests-- writing, drawing, wargaming and railroading-- without having to waste any time on useless homeworks. Well, technically I have some books to read for school, but that isn't the most urgent matter to me at the moment. I'm too busy relaxing and having a little fun on the side. Great to be young and unfettered!

I've been doing better than usual here on dA at achieving my landmarks. No clubs yet-- come to think of it, I don't really like clubs much anyways, I'm not a good group contributor in the few I actually belong to. I have a few friends though, so what more is there to have?

I kid, of course; one can always have more friends. I wonder what it's like, having lots of friends. Maybe I shouldn't think too hard about that one...

  • Listening to: Silverchair, oddly enough
  • Reading: My own annotations
  • Watching: The clock slowly tick away the night

A wayward watcher of the events surrounding him, more than a participant, Arrant possesses a taste for the glorious and the mysterious. He prefers fantasy over reality, as he finds the former far more fascinating and easier to keep a handle on. He responds to "Arrant", "Professor Ken", or more gloriously "the Arrant Professor".

Fellow Lego nerd, I watch you in recognition of your talents.

Also, it seems that you use MS Paint for you coloring. May I recommend the GIMP? It's free and is one step down from photoshop. Colored pics look awesome from it!

I do use MS Paint, but I also use Paint.Net, which is a watered-down Photoshop. Oh, and I happen to like the gaudy colors of MS Paint, which is why I use them. (Also, the comic already takes between 3 and 5 hours to produce per strip, and adding in shading, hues, all that jazz would probably double that total!)

Were it so easy...

Thanks for the watch!:iconretardiloveitplz:

The main reason I reccomended GIMP is because it has a "paintbrush" that makes smooth lines, rather than the hard edges of Paint's "pen". It just looks a little more professional. But your comics really are great, either way.

Thanks for the complement. I'm not actually interested in how "professional" the comic looks; I'm writing it to entertain my friends and myself, not to market it to the general public.

I HAVE actually done some work on Strips 7, 8, and 9, but they will probably not be up any time soon, as I still have a lot of editing to do with them.
